Adventure Awaits Kids on an Alaska Cruise

by  Kristen Boatright | Dec 7, 2016

It's no secret that Alaska cruises are a great way to get up close and personal with the state's vast wilderness and abundant wildlife. The popular cruise destination welcomed a million cruisers during the summer 2016 season, and it's an especially popular choice for multigenerational families and for those with children.

During an Alaskan adventure, kids can see bears, whales, eagles, salmon, and so much more, but they can also learn about Alaska's glaciers, its wildlife, and the importance of conservation.

We cruised southeast Alaska's Inside Passage this summer on Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam with an 11-year-old for a first-hand account of a kid's Alaskan experience. We also spoke with Alaska location guide Humberto Ferro and National Park Ranger Kaylin Werth. Watch our video above for more.
