Is the Ultimate Abyss the Ultimate Thrill?by Kristen Boatright | June 14, 2016
Do you dare? That’s what Royal Caribbean is asking guests on Harmony of the Seas. The most talked-about feature on the biggest ship in the world is definitely the Ultimate Abyss. Brave riders step onto a glass platform 150 above sea level and hurl themselves down the 10-story slide. It takes riders an average of 13.14 seconds to reach the bottom, with some going even faster and finishing in 12. The Ultimate Abyss has a 27-degree incline and is made up of a 450-degree spiral, two 360-degree circles, and a 90-foot snake-like drop. Watch our video above to hear more about the newest thrill ride — and only dry slide — at sea.
