Calling all theater lovers: Norwegian Cruise Line announced that the headliner for their newest ship, Norwegian Bliss, set to launch in June 2018 as the line’s first purpose-built ship for cruises to Alaska — will be the Broadway hit “Jersey Boys.” 

The show, which tells the story of '60s rock band Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, will make its debut at sea in the ship’s Bliss Theater. Whether you're a fan of the band or not, you'll recognize hits like "Oh What a Night," “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” "Walk Like a Man," and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

In addition to the Tony-award winning show, Norwegian Bliss will get a Beatles cover band as well as an original Broadway-style show with a Cuban-inspired theme. It was created by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer, Warren Carlyle, who choreographed "Hello, Dolly" for the 2017 Broadway revival and the show’s costumes come from Cuban-American fashion designer Isabel Toledo, who was nominated for a Tony in costume design for Broadway's "After Midnight" in 2014. (That show is currently playing on Norwegian Escape.)

The 4,000-passenger Norwegian Bliss will also get a new comedy club, called Alibi, which transforms into a nightclub after 10 pm, and the ship will also be home to a new pre-dinner lounge act, “Happy Hour Prohibition- The Musical,” a speakeasy-inspired performance that's paired with Prohibition-era cocktails. 

Broadway-worthy stage shows have become more common in the last few years, and in the last year alone Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas debuted “Grease,” Seabourn announced a new stage show from Tony-, Oscar- Grammy-nominated Sir Tim Rice, and Crystal announced a partnership with Tony-winning producer Kevin McCollum.
