Regent Seven Seas Announces Live Shows for Seven Seas Explorer

by Christine Ongsueng | March 15, 2016

Today, Regent Seven Seas announced the lineup of stage shows that will debut on Seven Seas Explorer when the ship launches in July. The line assembled a creative team led by Julliard-trained musical director Jeremy Fenn-Smith to develop the four productions, which range from a revue of classic tunes to an over-the-top burlesque spectacle.

"Peggy Lee" is songbook tribute to the iconic jazz and pop music singer that takes place at New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel, while the musical "Burn the Floor" is set in 1964, when Beatlemania and the British Invasion hit North America, and includes intricate choreography that melds multiple styles. The Parisian-style "Paradis" mixes jaw-dropping costumes and steamy burlesque. Finally, "A Day in Hollywood" (which won two Tonys when it played on Broadway) is a revue of songs from the 1930s, including "Ain't We Got Fun" and "Hooray for Hollywood."

The new shows will be performed at the ship's Constellation Theater by a cast of 12 singers and dancers accompanied by a live seven-piece orchestra.
