Ruby Princess Gets Upgrades

by  Kristen Boatright | Apr 1, 2016

Princess Cruises Ruby Princess is introducing guests to several exciting new spaces and features after a recent dry dock refit. There are more choices for diners as two celebrity chefs joining the fold. Curtis Stone’s 80-seat SHARE, also on Emerald Princess, is the chef’s first at sea. And, Ernesto Uchimura, of Umami Burger-fame, brings small plates and craft cocktails to The Salty Dog Gastropub — nightly in the wheelhouse bar.

Also new to the Grand-class ship is Stephen Schwartz’s "Magic to Do." The Oscar, Grammy, and Tony award-winning composer has signed on to produce four original stage shows for Princess Cruises, with “Magic to Do” being the first. “Magic to Do” premiered on Crown Princess before debuting on Ruby and Emerald Princess in late fall 2015.

Guests take the spotlight in “The Voice of the Ocean,” modeled after the hit NBC TV show. With staff as the judges and mentors and the audience making the final decision, passengers audition, practice and perform in an effort to take home the show’s top prize. “The Voice of the Ocean” is also onboard Regal and Royal Princess and will roll out on eight additional ships by May 2016.

You can get a peek at the new venues and shows in the video above.

The refit also added specially designed luxury beds, which will roll out fleet wide through 2018, and expanded Chef Norman Love’s Chocolate Journey’s Program.
