Anjodi is the star of an 18-strong fleet of small hotel barges operated by British company European Waterways. The intimate Dutch-style barge is lined with hardwood and brass, and accommodates just eight passengers and four crew members — a captain, a tour guide, a housekeeper/waitress, and a chef.
The striking-looking vessel's claim to fame was appearing in a TV cooking series with British chef Rick Stein, who cooked, ate, and drank his way along the Canal du Midi in the South of France onboard the ship. While the program first aired in 2005, it still runs on TV channels across the world, inspiring people to take the same journey.
