Costa Cruises’ latest, largest-ever vessel, the 3,724-guest Costa Diadema comes with all the bells and whistles you can expect from Carnival’s biggest European-based cruise line. Sharing some of the same attributes as the ships in Carnival’s Magic class, the Diadema has a wraparound exterior terrace encompassing a deck of public rooms, bars, and eateries that has the vibe of a seaside Italian promenade. The over-the-top decor by former Carnival architect Joseph Farcus makes Vegas look tame, adding to the frenetic pace of life on board. There are numerous entertainment venues, including a double-deck disco, a laser maze, 4-D cinema, and even a race car simulator.
What We Love
New Bars and Restaurants: The Diadema is the first Costa ship to feature Tavola Teppanyaki. At this reservations-required Japanese grill, your personal chef chops and juggles select courses at your table — an experience we think is worth the extra charge. Other new spots include a Neapolitan-style pizzeria, a German beer garden, and a wine bar with dispensers.
Espresso and Gelato: You can order piping hot, rich espresso from any number of bars without the usual fuss and wait on non-Italian ships. There is also a genuine gelateria overlooking the atrium.
Best Known For
Budget European-Style Cruising: Party animals and large families will find a lot to do on this ship, where the action never seems to slow down.
Massive Children’s Facilities: Kids are taken care of here, and they even have their own fairy-tale castle and a mock pirate ship on the top deck. Most cabins have third and fourth berths to accommodate bambini.

Who It's Best For
Those Looking to Play: Choose this ship if you are looking for high-energy fun — and if you don’t mind noise, crowds, and multilingual announcements.
Don't Say We Didn't Warn You
This is a boisterous ship: There's often music in most venues, and cabins near public spaces sometimes hear noise.
