SeaDream I

SeaDream Yacht Club, SeaDream I, Water Sports Marina Water Sports Marina SeaDream Yacht Club

The SeaDream I is half of the pair of identical ships operated by SeaDream Yacht Club. This 112-guest ship offers an upscale but decidedly casual ambience best exemplified by the weekly Champagne and caviar party on the beach. SeaDream I sails primarily to lesser-known sun-kissed ports in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, but no matter where you are the service is exemplary.

What We Love

Free-Flowing Wine: Practically everything’s included, including gratuities, 24-hour room service, water toys from the retractable marina — and, best of all, half a dozen wines to choose from at mealtime.

Pajamas: All passengers get comfy logo pajamas embroidered with their name. Wear them to spend the night on deck, where double-wide loungers are made up with sheets, pillows, and cozy duvets so guests can sleep under the stars.

Best Known For

Carefree Camaraderie: This small ship is meant to feel more like a yacht then a large cruise ship, and the atmosphere feels very laid back. The dress code is also very casual — pack sandals and open-collared shirts, not heels or ties.

Impressive Cuisine: Dishes meld the flavors and ingredients of many cultures. You can have ratatouille or pad Thai for lunch, and then homemade truffle tagliatelle or New Zealand lamb lollipops for dinner. There’s always a vegetarian option as well as vegan "raw" selections.

Who It's Best For

The Well-Heeled but Down-to-Earth: SeaDream is great for couples who appreciate luxury and top-notch service but fear pretension.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

Showing Its Age: SeaDream I was luxurious when built in the mid ’80s and is beautifully maintained. But it lacks some of the features expected by cruisers today — most notably private balconies.

You'll Need to Entertain Yourself: Don’t book this ship for a casino (it's tiny), Broadway-style shows (they don't offer them), or late-night discos (nope). After-dinner options include conversation over an al fresco drinks or in the tiny piano bar.
