Silver Spirit

Silversea focuses on luxury cruising, which is exactly what you’ll find on the Silver Spirit. The 540-passenger ship is the line’s largest, but it’s still much smaller than most ships sailing the ocean right now. All cabins have deep tubs in marble bathrooms, continuously refreshed minibars, and soft sheets and duvets. White-gloved butlers are at your service, and elegant eateries include the jazz-themed Stars Supper Club.

What We Love

Luxe Staterooms: High-end touches are everywhere in your suite. Expect Pratesi sheets and a pillow menu, Laura Tonatto scents, afternoon canapés, and Pierre Marcolini chocolates at turndown.

Intimate Atmosphere: The vibe on board is lively and congenial, though the ship never feels crowded even when fully booked.

Best Known For

Butler Service: You’ll also have an attendant who will present you with a choice of bath amenities, take your dinner reservations, and serve croissants and coffee right to your stateroom in the morning.

Fine Food: You’ll never run out of elegant options on the Spirit. Try the caviar-topped sorbet at Seishin, the seafood platter at the Relais & Chateaux Le Champagne, and the fresh-made pastas (from trenette to ravioli to fusilli) at the Slow Food-inspired La Terrazza.

Who It's Best For

Seasoned Med Cruisers: Mediterranean itineraries stop at smaller ports typically bypassed by larger ships or voyages designed for first-time cruisers to the region. (Silver Spirit also sails to Mexico and the Caribbean.)

Couples: The small-ship atmosphere — and plenty of date-night dinner venues — set the scene for romance. There are no kids programs on board, meaning your fellow cruisers are likely to be adults looking for together time as well.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

Small-Scale Entertainment: Mega ships tout Broadway-style productions in huge theaters with polished performers. Don’t expect any of that here. The stage in the Show Lounge is small, hosting classical music and educational lectures.
