The second luxury ship built for Silversea Cruises, 296-passsenger Silver Wind made her debut in 1995. Although she’s the sister to Silver Cloud, launched in 1994, Silver Wind has a number of features that distinguish her from her sibling, thanks to a 2008 refit that created a forward-facing Observation Lounge, an expanded Spa at Silversea, and a number of unique suites. An additional refit in 2013 completely refurbished The Bar and Le Champagne, Silversea’s wine-inspired, Relais & Châteaux-partnered specialty dining experience. Silver Wind divides her time between the Caribbean and Europe.
What We Love
Lounge with a View: Designed to resemble the Observation Lounge aboard Silversea’s flagship, Silver Spirit, this intimate, book-clad oasis offers up some of the best forward-facing views aboard Silver Wind — and few guests ever find it.
Luxury Suites: Although she’s a veteran of 20-plus years at sea, you’d never know it: Silver Wind's lavishly appointed suites still sparkle like new and benefit from butler service, an nine-option pillow menu, and Pratesi linens.
Best Known For
Intimate Ambience: Silver Wind is one of the most intimate ships at sea, with a guest-to-crew ratio of nearly one-to-one. As luxury ships continue to grow in size and passenger count, this vessel still offers that most indulgent of commodities: plenty of space to call your own.
Fine Dining: Besides the six-course, wine-paired tasting menu in Le Champagne (for which there is an added fee), Silver Wind's dining choices include The Restaurant (an elegant main dining room with a focus on continental cuisine), La Terrazza (a buffet eatery at breakfast and lunch that transforms into an à la carte "slow-food"-focused Italian restaurant for dinner), and The Grill (an al fresco pool bar/cafe by day that allows guests to enjoy a Black Rock Grill dinner experience at their table).

Who It's Best For
Cruisers Who Appreciate Understated Luxury: Silver Wind isn’t going to knock your socks off with a multi-story atrium or the latest in interior design trends. Rather, she’s like a cozy boutique hotel: warm, inviting, and ready to coddle.
Don't Say We Didn't Warn You
AstroTurf Top Deck: Silver Wind’s uppermost deck is covered in a green AstroTurf-style decking that really retains moisture when it rains. Expect your shoes to get very, very wet.
