Disney Cruise Line Adds Marvel and Star Wars Areas to Disney Fantasyby Kayla Becker | March 10, 2017
Disney Cruise Line is adding even more family-friendly spaces to its newest ship, the 2012-built Disney Fantasy this May, including Marvel and "Star Wars" play areas and an ice cream shop, plus a Tiffany & Co boutique.
The ship, which is already home to a "water coaster," a splash club, and plenty of classic Disney characters, is revamping its kids-exclusive play space for children age 3 to 12 — the Oceaneer Club — with a Marvel Super Hero Academy similar to those already on Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. Except instead of Captain America, kids can meet Doctor Strange (who is making his debut on Disney Cruise Line), as well as play themed games.
The line is also adding a “Star Wars” Command Post where kids can train with the heroes of the movie, meet their favorite characters, and interact with holographic projections of the Millennium Falcon (there's also one on Disney Dream) and the Death Star.
There’s also good news for those with a sweet tooth: the line will add a new ice cream shop near the family pool called Sweet on You that’s based on classic Mickey Mouse cartoons and will sell hand-made gelato, sundaes, truffles, and candy.
And, for the first time on a Disney Cruise Line ship, there will also be a Tiffany & Co. shop, which will carry the Tiffany T collection as well as its signature diamond jewelry.
The enhancements will debut on a three-night sailing from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas on May 17.
