Expedition Cruises Without Roughing It

by John Roberts | June 02, 2017

Afraid you have to sacrifice relaxation and comforts for the thrill of the expedition cruise adventure of your dreams? If you think the most exciting itineraries require you to settle for Spartan accommodations and bare-bones amenities, think again.

With these cruises (some of which are true expeditions and other are softer — we'll call them "expedition light"), you can wake up to breakfast in bed in an opulent suite on high thread count linens and end your nights with gourmet meals paired with fine wines. In between, you'll zip around ice floes in Zodiacs or go hiking, snorkeling and kayaking in the most remote parts of the world. Read on for cruise lines that blend adventure and decadence in a variety of sailings.
