Duty-free shops, both on cruise ships and in ports, offer temptations (and convenience) for travelers who would rather snag bargains than sit in the sun. Since you won't be paying local taxes or duty (a tariff that is imposed on goods when you cross an international border), these purchases sound like automatic deals.
