How to Get a Last-Minute Cruise Deal

by Fran Golden | May 30, 2017

5. Pick a slow season.

You may find better last-minute deals, for instance, when kids go back to school in the fall. In seasonal markets such as Alaska, look for deals at the beginning and end of the season — May and September.

6. Go long.

Consider longer itineraries, such as repositioning cruises with many days at sea. The longer the cruise the more chance of cancellations, leading to price breaks.

7. Be flexible.

Don't set your sights on one ship or one type of cabin or even a certain itinerary. You may find a better last-minute deal for the Western Caribbean rather than the Eastern Caribbean
